Greetings
Greetings Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church (MMBC) family, aka “The Lighthouse of Hope,” new worldwide web visitors, and friends:
As I pen this letter, we are in the middle of a pandemic that our globe has never witnessed. It may be alarming to read articles and watch media broadcasts about lives that have been lost because of the Coronavirus, or COVID-19. Daily we witness or learn of people dying due to various illnesses. However, it is devastating to grapple with unprecedented numbers due to COVID-19 as reported by CNN and other new outlets. Per CNN on April 4, 2020, “At least 262,438 Americans have been infected and nearly 6,700 have died.” These numbers increase daily.
As a woman of God that serves as an ambassador for El Shaddai, the one who is God Almighty and the All-Sufficient One (Exodus 3:14), I am encouraged and strengthened in my FAITH. I know who sits on the throne. He is still Omniscient (all knowing), Omnipresent (everywhere), and Omnipotent (all powerful). Paul writes to Timothy, his son in the Faith, in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” As children of the Most High God, we must never forget that God is in CONTROL, Period! We may surprise our love ones with birthday, retirement, or baby shower celebrations, yet we can never surprise God with anything. According to 2 Chronicles 16:9, “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.” Furthermore, Isaiah 66:1 states “The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool.” Just as our God had a watchful and careful eye on Ebola, He has a watchful and careful eye on COVID-19.
Having said that, I hope that you are further encouraged by our rich church history. The year 2020 marks 144 years of existence for Macedonia, the church that was birthed under a bush tent. Our auxiliaries ranged from the young to the young at heart. MMBC exists to be a beacon of light in our community and every place that the Lord allows us to impact in the midst of darkness. It is our goal to be a continual and perpetual light to unbelievers, pointing them to the perfect way of Christ Jesus. May our light and love serve as a magnet to inspire the believers to continue on this FAITH journey and unbelievers to see the light and confess Jesus as their Lord and Savior. This is my sincere prayer.
Keep the Light Burning!
